Moving between pages never interrupts the music. Only one tab plays at a time, so you’ll never hear two streams at once.
K plays and pauses, and M mutes, when the player has focus or nothing on the page does. Space plays and pauses in the player itself (“Skip to player” takes you there). You can switch them off in the player options (the ••• button in the player bar).
Drift off to the music. Choose anything from 15 minutes to 90, or the end of the current song, and it fades out gently over the last 20 seconds. On iPhone and iPad it stops at the set time without the fade.
Best quality sounds fullest. On mobile data, Everyday or Data saver go much further, and if your connection struggles the player steps down by itself to keep the music going.

RelaxingJazz installs straight from this website. It opens in its own window with the player one tap away. There’s no app store, no account and nothing to update.
No install button? Your browser keeps the option in its own menu, and the steps below show where to find it.
Background listening is most reliable in Safari itself, so start the music there rather than in another app’s browser.

For VLC, Winamp, internet radios and anything else that asks for a stream address. All three are MP3, around the clock. Use the secure addresses wherever you can.

Each playlist file lists the secure address first and the classic one as a backup, so a player that can’t use one can try the other. Open it in VLC, Winamp, foobar2000 or most other players.
For external players and older internet radios that can’t open secure addresses. Web browsers won’t play these, so our own player always uses the secure ones above.

B2 Player how-tos
Copy a secure address from the table above, then follow the steps for your player. Or skip the copying: download a playlist file and open it.
The VLC phone apps have a similar network stream option. VLC is free, and very good at riding out a shaky connection.
In iTunes on Windows, the same option is File › Open Stream… (Ctrl+U). On iPhone and iPad, use the Apple Music station page instead.
If an older version won’t open the secure address, use the classic HTTP address, or open the .pls file, which has both.
If your version of Windows has the newer Media Player app and it has no Open URL option, VLC is a free and reliable alternative.
Look for an option called something like Open URL, Open stream or Add station, and paste a secure address. Many internet radios keep it in their settings. If a device only accepts plain HTTP, use a classic address.
B3 Troubleshooting
Most hiccups have a quick fix. These two checks are a good place to start.
Checking the station…
On air but silent? Check the volume and mute button in the player bar, and that your device’s own sound is up.
Tests the three secure streams from wherever you are. It takes a few seconds and plays nothing.
Try a lighter stream: Everyday (128 kbps) or Data saver (32 kbps) need far less bandwidth. Our player reconnects by itself after a dropout, and if the line stays shaky it steps down a quality and tells you. Wi-Fi a long way from the router and busy mobile networks are the usual culprits.
Use the secure (HTTPS) addresses. They travel over port 443, just like any secure website, so most firewalls let them through. Plain HTTP streams are more often blocked. If nothing plays at all, the network may block streaming audio; the connection test above will tell you.
Listen in Safari, or install the app. Browsers inside other apps, such as Instagram or Facebook, often stop the music when you switch away, so open the page in Safari instead.
Browsers only allow sound after you press something, and now and then the first attempt is refused. Press play once more. If it still won’t start, run the connection test above.
Some older devices can’t open secure addresses. Use one of the classic HTTP addresses instead, or a .pls file, which has both.
Apps and smart speakers keep a little music in reserve, so they can run slightly behind what the website shows. To find a song you heard, look it up by time on the Playlist page.
