About The Sax Pack
The Sax Pack is a smooth jazz trio of saxophonists Jeff Kashiwa, Kim Waters and Steve Cole. Kashiwa came up with the idea around 2003, taking Frank Sinatra’s Rat Pack as his model, and the three began as a touring act. An early single, “My Lovin’ (You’re Never Gonna Get It)”, came out in 2004 on Native Language Music.
Their self-titled debut album arrived on Shanachie in 2008, with The Pack Is Back following in 2009 and Power of 3, again on Shanachie, in 2015. Steve Cole, a Chicago native, describes himself as a founding member of the group, while Kim Waters, from Havre de Grace, Maryland, built a following in the 1990s with a soulful, romantic brand of contemporary jazz.
