Biography
About Dave Bradshaw Jr.
Dave Bradshaw Jr. is a smooth jazz keyboardist and composer from Lakewood, California, near Long Beach. He started with accordion lessons and was playing organ and piano by the age of ten, and straight out of high school he joined the U.S. Navy Show Band as a keyboardist, touring as far afield as South America and Africa. He went on to build a long career as a sideman in Southern California, backing singers such as Natalie Cole and Etta James, spending 13 years with the Al Williams Jazz Society and opening for Kenny G and Brian Culbertson.
Bradshaw had released a straight-ahead jazz album, Movin’ In, in 2001, but his move into contemporary jazz came with the 2015 single “Jumpstep”, which saxophonist Darren Rahn co-wrote and produced. Rahn also appears on the album Set Me Free (2016), which includes “Nothin’ but Groove” and “Eastern Beauty”. Flipside followed in 2018 with “Miles Away”, “Strollin’” and “Morning Kisses”.
